Fashion goes way beyond the clothes we choose to wear or the shoes we buy at the store or the suitcase we carry. It's a way of life. Fashion is who we are, what we are worth and how we are perceived. Over the years it has become the primary means of expressing ourselves.
Fashion is deep rooted, maybe it has become more important over the past century but it goes way back. From the time of Adam and Eve when real animal skin was the hottest trend up till today with faux fur being the in thing. Fashion has been an integral part of the human race. It's one of the other things that separates us from other animals.
A man dressed in a habit sends a message; you can deduce the type of man he is mere looking at what he wears. It’s his "style". The point is, fashion distinguishes us. It gives people an idea of who we are, where we are from or how we feel, that is why fashion is an indispensable part of our culture. From the Amish to the Native Americans to the Arabs, you could tell them apart when they are dressed according to the dictates of their culture.
Today, you could tell a corporate worker from an entrepreneur. You wouldn't necessarily find a corporate worker in some thousand dollar suit with an even more expensive suitcase in a black Mercedes pulling over at an expensive restaurant at lunch time on a Monday afternoon. You also may not see an entrepreneur or self employed man in a million dollar suit. Maybe you can. Nothing is off limits with fashion.
Back in the days, men's fashion was placed on the back burner. Today, it's a whole new story. Men's fashion can easily be equated with women's fashion, its now just more than the regular ‘shirt and trouser’
Gone are the days when baggy pants with a white tee and chains meant cool. Welcome to a world of suit and tie, a world of corporate native attires. And yes, I am beyond grateful those days are gone. This is the new age, the dawn of the elegant old fashioned man, the classic, classy and timeless man.
